Doctors for the NHS believes universal, comprehensive healthcare is a basic human right and the mark of a civilised country. It is not compatible with a market based on commercial contracts, which is what has been increasingly imposed on our NHS since 1990.
This market:
– has put commercial barriers in the way of clinical professionals working together
– has hugely increased the amount of public money siphoned off by middlemen before it can reach frontline services
– and makes it legally impossible to exclude the NHS from future trade deals.
This election could stop the madness.
