DFNHS Chair points to Test and Trace failures on Newsnight

Doctors for the NHS Chair Colin Hutchinson, acting in his capacity as local Councillor, pointed out the (many) shortcomings of the current test & trace system on Newsnight [16m 20s] on 11 November.

Colin pointed out that local tracers – who knew their local communities and were far more effective than the centralised, Serco-led system – were prevented from talking to all the members of the same household when they visited one individual, even though all those people needed to be told what to do. They were under instructions just to talk to that one individual, even when other members of the household were present. He also mentioned the appalling delay in getting test result from the horrendously costly national system, by which time it was too late to stop the spread of the virus.
